On April 5th, Sounds and Penn State’s RPTM 356 class joined forces to fill the State High Fairmount Ave. building with songs and art during Rock Your Art Out!  The Saturday evening event, planned by both units, was a combination concert and art sale, with artists and Sounds splitting the profits.

The final lineup of musical acts featured a range of ages and genres, comprising Cole Hons, Talking To Strangers (picture above), Deb Gilmore, Soviet Bibles, Olivia Price, Here all Week, LullaNAs and Sticker Kids.  Art for sale was just as varied, with handmade jewelry, photographic prints, and beaded crafts being among the pieces displayed.

Rock Your Art Out! was a big day for Sounds‘ online presence- it was the launch day of our brand-new Twitter account!  @Sounds_SC live-tweeted the night, with photos of all the acts performing.  The event also garnered a lot of local buzz, with articles promoting the event in Voices, the Centre Daily Times, the Daily Collegian, and State in the Real.  Check out some of the write-ups on our site under Publicity!

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the event- send us any pictures or video you have from the night too!
