Sounds at Webster’s Cafe
Sounds at Webster’s was a free concert held in downtown State College, PA on October 26, 2013 from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m. at Webster’s Bookstore and Café.
This event gave community members of all ages the chance to enjoy high quality, diverse music in an uplifting and alcohol-free environment. The focus was on original music performances and audience participation. Four diverse local bands performed original songs, and band members led audience jam sessions in between band sets. This was an exciting way for local musicians to connect with and inspire music lovers of all ages in the State College community!
THE PERKOLATORS: a reggae/rock band that formed in 2010 in State College, PA. The Perkolators play regularly in State College at venues including Levels Nightclub, Cafe 210 West and The Darkhorse Tavern. They recently opened for Rusted Root and were highlighted in a feature article in the Centre Daily Times.
LORD FORREST: Sam Christensen’s solo indie-folk project. Sam has performed with several State College bands over the years and started LORD FORREST last year.
THE GOOD PART: an up-and-coming State College high school band categorized as “Bounce Rock.” Their strong performance in the local 2013 New Year’s Eve Rockfest sparked the public’s interest and they are quickly gaining popularity.
AUGUST ROOM: A newly formed State College quintet drawing its members from well-known local bands such as 3-D Betty, Trixie Neptune and The Earthtones. August Room brings an intriguing blend of indie cabaret-rock with influences of Americana, progressive-rock and reggae.
